On 17th I’ve been to my parents’ to help them out a bit and I took some nice pics of my mum’s plants:
On 20th Evi had her birthday party in Prater and I set my own personal beer record up to nine and a half (4.75l beer)…
This weekend David and I picked up Conny in Windischgarsten and celebrated her birthday together with her.

Windischgarsten to Villach

Wednesday morning Conny and I left for Windischgarsten. After packing the car full to the roof we went first to Linz to visit some of Connys friends. For lunch we went up on Pöstlingberg with a beautiful church and an even more stunning view over Linz. In Windischgarsten we went shopping and prepared the hut to have some relaxing days.
Thursday I convinced Conny to drive to Hutterer Höss, a mountain in Hinterstoder which can be reached over cable car. Not only that we had an amazing view but all the alpine flowers were blooming beautifully! The walk at the Höss is quite flat and can be done in 45 minutes. Therefore we didn’t panic much when we were suddenly enclosed in a thick cloud making the path almost invisible but for a few meters. Back down we could see the cloud hanging around the peak.
On Friday the weather was so bad that we decided to stay inside working on Connys heart-project.
Saturday Gerhard and David took the train to Windischgarsten and together we enjoyed lokal beef steak! Then David and I went on to Friesach, where we met Evi. In Friesach there was a medieval festival with great atmosphere, craft, a market and lots of games.
On Sunday we started out slowly. After a late brunch we went along the Villach Alpine road up the mountain Dobratsch. The view is stunning. At one stop you could walk over a grilled platform over the edge of a cliff and look down between your feet through the grill. So cool! On top of the road we watched the cows and horses grazing. Back in Villach David went on to visit his cousin while Evi and I put on our traditional clothing and went to the Kermesse in Villach. They have a special Kermesse soup which is delicious! In the evening we went to St. Veit an der Glan. Evis Dad was singing at a Carinthian Song night which war really good!
Monday we slept in again and then went to the Kermesse to watch the final preparations. There I made Evi buy another traditional dress for lots of money. *evilgrin*
