Finally we’re done – the apartment is fully furnished, the party has ended without any damage to our interiour and we feel like home!

Making of: New Kitchen

Finally my brandnew kitchen is here! The guys from the furniture store spent two days carrying, screwing, sawing, hammering, drilling, constructing and connecting. During that time my living room was not usable either because they had to put all the stuff that was supposed to go into my kitchen somewhere. But now that they’re done I’m so happy! It’s so beautiful (at least according to my opinion) but look for yourself:

Sun blinds and IKEA furniture

Today the IKEA assembly guys and the guys installing the sun blinds were there – a successful day! At five to eight (sun blinds) and at five past eight (IKEA) the guys arrived, almost sharp on time for the eight-o’clock-appointment. At half past eleven the whole thing was over again – the sun-blind-guys being aprox. 30 minutes faster than the IKEA-guys. But it’s hard to compare. The sun-blind guys had eight windows and two doors to blind and the IKEA-gues had to assemble a big cupboard, two bedside tables, a desk, two small cabinets for the TV, a clothes hanger and a little bench. The IKEA guys had really cool holsters around their hips holding the cordless screwdrivers! A special version of screwdrivers with a torch included!

Our bathroom is furnished

The easiest first – the bathroom It’s finally furnished. We were having a really hard time watching some workers install all the wall mounted stuff (Shower, mirror cabinet, towel holder, toilet paper holer,…) The shower screen we finally did ourselves. As well as the little cabinet under the washbowl. That’s cool, isn’t it? And we got our brandnew wash/dryer mashine installed, too!

I got a new apartment! Only 15 minutes from my workplace. The apartment is huge compared to Vechta – living room, dining room with kitchen, bathroom, toilet, bedroom and office area! Pictures will be posted on Sunday, when David and I take the SLR to Ennsdorf!

Ennsdorf!

I’m in Ennsdorf! Actually in St. Valentin in a hotel but that doesn’t matter. The sun is shining and it feels like springtime! After I packed my stuff (2.5 suitcases and 2 backpacks) this morning I left for Ennsdorf. Only two hours driving (plus a nice lunch at a Landzeit Restaurant along the highway) I reached Ennsdorf. The base is tiny but neat. I got a short base tour by Sandra so that I won’t get lost. I reached Ennsdorf at one (still lunch time) so I didn’t meet many people but maybe this helps me remembering all the names! My company notebook was waiting for me as well so that tomorrow at 8 I can start working right away. Only the language I have to learn (a)new…
