New Apartment

I got a new apartment! Only 15 minutes from my workplace. The apartment is huge compared to Vechta – living room, dining room with kitchen, bathroom, toilet, bedroom and office area! Pictures will be posted on Sunday, when David and I take the SLR to Ennsdorf!

First Workday

Today was my first working day in my new location. The base is tiny and my room is gigantic compared to Vechta. I share a nice large friendly office with Andreas. Unfortunately I haven’t met him today, but I met lots of other nice and cool colleagues! I think I’m gonna like it here! Here are some pics of my new office:

Ennsdorf!

I’m in Ennsdorf! Actually in St. Valentin in a hotel but that doesn’t matter. The sun is shining and it feels like springtime! After I packed my stuff (2.5 suitcases and 2 backpacks) this morning I left for Ennsdorf. Only two hours driving (plus a nice lunch at a Landzeit Restaurant along the highway) I reached Ennsdorf. The base is tiny but neat. I got a short base tour by Sandra so that I won’t get lost. I reached Ennsdorf at one (still lunch time) so I didn’t meet many people but maybe this helps me remembering all the names! My company notebook was waiting for me as well so that tomorrow at 8 I can start working right away. Only the language I have to learn (a)new…

Goodbye Germany, Welcome Austria!

My last days in Vechta! I can’t believe it! Today I stopped by in the base to leave my business cards – wine bottles with my phone number on. I realized that I’m gonna miss my colleagues a lot… The whole afternoon David and I spent packing. Now it’s impossible to go to the balcony cause the boxes are blocking the door. Only stuff I want to take to Vienna is still left. Tomorrow David and I will go to the CeBIT in Hannover, Friday evening will be my goodbye party and on Saturday I’ll drive home! Finally!

Transfer to Austria

Tja, Ende Jänner rückt näher und näher und ich habe auch schon meinen Versetzungsbrief, datiert auf 1. Januar 2010 mit mündlichem Versprechen vom Chef meines Chefs, dass ich bis Ende Jänner in Ennsdorf bin… noch ist alles ruhig. Ich hab noch nichts – absolut nichts – gehört und bin am warten. Sobald ich was neues weiß, werde ich es natürlich sogleich auf Facebook und hier verlauten…

Vienna or maybe Ennsdorf?

FYI: Last Monday (November 30th) I quit Schlumberger. But after two days I got a call from my bosses boss saying he will transfer me to Austria within the next two months if I withdraw my resignation. Of course I did it. Now I’m waiting if and when I’ll be actually moving to Ennsdorf (Lower Austria, region Amstetten). Lets hope for the best…
