Frozen Old Danube

Today we’ve been to the Old Danube to take some pictures. There was a hole in the ice where there were hordes of swans, geese, ducks and doves!

Flickr Explore Place 53!

Wow! Yesterday we had a great success! We made it to Flickr Explore place 53! This is the picture:
We took the picture as a contribution to the topic Film Noir. David and I are both attempting a project366 (we have a leap year), meaning we shoot a picture a day. I increased the difficulty by shooting a picture to a preset topic from the group “Our Daily Challenge”. And yesterday the topic was “Film Noir”. I guess we did a good job on that!

Trip to Munich

Last Thursday was a holiday here in Austria, so we decided to spend a few days in Munich visiting Grandma and Isabell. We spent a nice day shopping and visiting the Christmas markets and went for great Bavarian dinner with Grandma. The last day David and I went over to Isabell and Daniel and enjoyed the evening chasing their cats, playing board games and drinking Christmas punch. On Sunday we had great Bavarian breakfast before driving home to Vienna.

Krampus celebration

Today we’ve been at the traditional Krampus celebration. (Krampus – see Wikipedia) After some appetizers and a delicious turkey we had the traditional huge plate of nuts, (dried) fruits and chocolate… very tempting and yummy!

Wilhelminenberg

Together with friends we “hiked” on Wilhelminenberg. After a start at the Castle Wilhelminenberg we walked steep down to Neuwaldegg. Then we had to climb back up the hill… But we had a wonderful fall weather with sunshine! It was worth it!
